Kia Carens Clavis HTE(EX) Variant Launched in India: Price Starts at ₹12.55 Lakh with New Sunroof and Upgraded Features

Kia India has expanded its Carens Clavis ICE lineup with the introduction of the HTE(EX) This mid-level trim slots between the base HTE(O) and the HTK, offering enhanced features at competitive prices.

Available only as a 7-seater with manual transmission options, it caters to families seeking better value in the MPV segment without stepping up to pricier models.

What’s New in the HTE(EX) Variant

Building on the HTE(O), the HTE(EX) introduces several upgrades for improved comfort and style. Key additions include:

  • Electric sunroof: A major highlight, especially as it’s now available for the first time on the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, bringing a premium open-sky feel to the cabin.
  • Fully automatic temperature control (auto AC): Ensures precise climate management across all rows, a step up from manual systems in lower trims.
  • LED DRLs and position lamps: Enhance the front fascia’s modern look and improve daytime visibility.
  • LED cabin lighting: Provides brighter, more efficient interior illumination for a refined ambiance.
  • One-touch auto up/down on driver-side power window: While power windows were already present in base variants, this adds the convenient one-touch functionality for quicker operation and added safety (e.g., anti-pinch protection).

These features address common buyer preferences, making premium elements more accessible. Compared to the HTE(O), which lacks these, the HTE(EX) also retains essentials like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, rear parking camera, and semi-digital instrument cluster for a well-rounded package.
